Website design and development is an important marketing tool for any business. We recently highlighted the product packing and promotional marketing material we created for ICAN Hard Seltzer. In addition, we were tasked with crafting a way to improve their customer’s online shopping experience with a clean online store designed for the way their customer shops.

About the Brand

ICAN Hard Seltzer is a brand from the award-winning winery Mercer Estates.  A family-owned company headquartered in Prosser, WA focused on making their mark in an emerging industry they have developed a wine-based hard seltzer beverage.

As stated on their website, “ICAN Hard Seltzers are all-natural, gluten-free, and vegan. Choose from Black Cherry, Wild Berry, Peach, or Watermelon (or better yet, try them all). They’re made with fruits local to the beautiful Northwest. In every drop, you’ll get a taste of the Pacific Northwest.”

Website Design & Development of ICAN

Goals

After completing a package design, we moved into website design and development. The goal for this website design was to educate consumers on a new category that ICAN Wine offered.

Additionally, we needed the website to reflect and merge the 2 product categories – the award-winning ICAN Wines and the newly released ICAN Hard Seltzers – on one platform. Once educating consumers on the new category and merging the two products, we wanted to streamline the customer purchase journey. To showcase this, our team built direct calls-to-action for “Buy Now”. We now explore the process it took our growth marketing agency to bring the ICAN vision to life.

Process

Before developing the entire ICAN website, we first developed an initial “Coming Soon” landing page. As a result, this landing page acted as a teaser for the new product launch. We took design inspiration from the pre-existing ICAN Wines site focused on incorporating callouts from our package design. Just as we had leaned on the loud pops of color on the package design, we leaned on the packaging for the website. Using muted grays and light blues as the base for the site allowed for the product to do the talking.

The content we produced for the website focused on highlighting the local fruit and eco-friendly packaging. Educating users on not only how the wine for these products was grown but also how these products are award-winning and locally sourced.

We educated consumers on the type of grab-n-go product this is by featuring the ICAN Hard Seltzer next to surfers, hikers, and picnickers. Users can see not only that this is an all-natural, recyclable beverage, but a fun resealable choice for their next adventure.

Conclusion

Leveraging the design and development of this website we reflected ICAN’s brand while also providing their consumers a way to interact with them online. We put together a unique website with a seamless user experience tailoring the final site to the client’s goal.
